That thought, expressed by a visitor, is something all of us have felt at one time or another when visiting Point Lobos. The nonprofit Point Lobos Association was formed to support interpretive and educational programs, enhance the public's awareness and enjoyment of the unique qualities of Point Lobos State Reserve, and to assist California State Parks in preserving the Reserve.

Our membership fees go directly to these activities, such as developing and supporting docent training and programs, publishing and distributing free interpretive materials, conducting school and public nature walk programs, and maintaining interpretive centers like the information station, the Whalers Cabin, and the Whaling Station Museum.
